This Credit Reporting Notice explains how Innovative Control Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 33 602 766 727), trading as Alarmify, handles your credit-related personal information when we conduct a credit check as part of assessing your eligibility for the Alarmify service.
This notice forms part of, and supplements, our Privacy Policy, which you should read in full.
1. Why we conduct a credit check
We may conduct a consumer credit check after you submit an order and before installation is booked, in order to:
- verify your identity
- assess your creditworthiness
- manage financial and operational risk
- determine eligibility for ongoing service arrangements
We only conduct a credit check where you have authorised us to do so at checkout.
2. Information we may disclose to a Credit Reporting Body (CRB)
To perform a credit check, we may disclose the following information to a CRB:
- full name
- current and previous residential addresses
- date of birth
- contact details
- driver's licence number (if supplied)
This information enables the CRB to correctly identify you.
3. Information we may receive from a CRB
We may obtain a credit report containing information such as:
- credit history and repayment behaviour
- credit applications and credit limits
- publicly available information (e.g., bankruptcy records)
- default information
- any other permitted credit-worthiness information under Part IIIA of the Privacy Act
We use this information only for assessing your eligibility for the Alarmify service.
4. Credit Reporting Bodies (CRBs) we may use
We may use one or more of the following CRBs:

Each CRB maintains its own privacy policy and information-handling practices.
You can contact these CRBs directly to:
- request a copy of your credit report,
- request correction of information they hold,
- opt out of direct marketing pre-screening, and
- place a ban on your credit file if you believe you are (or may be) a victim of identity fraud.
For each CRB's detailed "Credit Reporting Policy", visit their website and search for "credit file", "your credit report", or "pre-screening opt-out".
5. Your rights under the Privacy Act & CR Code
You have the right to:
- Request access to any credit-related information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date credit information
- Ask a CRB not to use your information for direct-marketing pre-screening
- Ask a CRB not to use or disclose your information if you believe you have been or may be a victim of fraud
- Lodge a complaint with us about how we handle your credit-related information. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may make a complaint to the OAIC.
- Request that we do not disclose certain credit-related information to a CRB if you have a current fraud ban in place with that CRB.

8. Consent
By submitting your order at checkout and ticking the consent box, you authorise Alarmify to:
- disclose your personal information to an Australian Credit Reporting Body
- obtain a credit report about you
- use the credit-related information solely to assess your eligibility for the Alarmify service
- This authorisation relates to consumer credit information for the purpose of assessing your application for a post-paid service and managing credit risk in accordance with Part IIIA of the Privacy Act and the CR Code.
Your consent applies only for this purpose.
